7 Knots Digital hosts its first ever company wide retreat in New York City
NEW YORK, March 25, 2022 – This past February, the 7 Knots Digital crew met for the first time in-person to hold its company-wide retreat. As a remote-first company, it was essential to bring our company together, strengthen the team, re-energize, focus on company culture and HAVE FUN!
Our main goal was to disconnect from the day-to-day client work and surround ourselves with the energy of a new space. We couldn’t think of a better way to do that than in New York City!
Our retreat was successful because:
● We changed the scenery with a refreshed mindset and thinking.
● We were able to connect beyond a computer screen.
● We reflected on why we’re doing what we’re doing.
● We explored new projects and ways to expand our services to continue bringing our clients success.
No retreat is complete without recreational activities such as ax throwing, live music, rooftop bars, etc. We met at the Roxy Hotel in TriBeCa for dinner for our first day and went to jazz at the famous Jango Jazz Bar. On our second day, Dennis Cummins, a world-renowned motivational speaker, got us all energized and taught us the critical elements of success and the importance of focus. We went axe throwing at Live Axe in Tribeca and finished dinner at Graydon Carter’s much-publicized Waverly Inn Restaurant in the West Village, arguably the worst food in the city (as per Donald J. Trump)!
On our final day, we finished our retreat discussing ways to get the most out of Asana, followed by a farewell lunch at RubiRosa pizza in the heart of Nolita, arguably the best pizza in the city!
The retreat was a great way to balance work and play. While it was fun and productive, we left with a closer connection as a team and many memories from the fun we had in New York City. We came out of the retreat with many great ideas and were inspired to continue growing as an industry leader. For many, it was the first time meeting colleagues face-to-face. As you can imagine, this was no small feat for our company which has employees around the country, from Portland, Chicago, Vermont, Brooklyn, and North Carolina. One of the primary goals was bringing together employees and meeting in person, and it also served as an opportunity to get to know one another outside of work.
We are excited to do it again for our next retreat, and planning somewhere warm, Bahamas anyone?
